I'm not new to biking, as I road bike 2-3 times a week, 20-30 miles a ride, in the warmer months, and as much as possible when it's colder (I run more in the winter). But it's rare that I take my bike to go grocery shopping. So, today I decided instead of taking the car (or walking to the Safeway next door), I'd ride to Whole Foods, 4 miles away. I didn't need to pick up a lot, so I figured my timbuk2 bag would be enough, which it was. Now, if I had to pick up a lot, it definitely would have been too much without better means. I'll have to see if I can find a used bike trailer on Craigslist for those bigger hauls. It was actually a quick trip, only taking 35 minutes round trip, not including the time shopping. It was great to be outdoors on such a nice day, too.
