We just had our first day of our Research/Design class and I'm very excited to jump into the summer term. Leading up to the first class, we defined what areas we need to really dig into, which include child development, parents needs/wants, safety regulations and requirements, and the concept of risk. I'm off to the library to pick up a human factors book, which has a chapter dedicated to children ergonomics. I'm also hoping to find a textbook, that'll explain some of the key physical developmental steps that children acquire through ages three to nine, such as motor skills development.

We discussed the fact the neither Jesse or I have children, which might be seen as a disadvantage, but really just gives us fresh eyes on the whole topic. Most parents are probably dialed in to the development stages of their children, and could rattle off a list, so interviews with more parents, should also help. Ok, off to the library...
